Sandpit Play is the fun Eco Stop
The kids get to experience hands-on action, encouraging creativity and developing social skills. The sandpit is created from recycled wood and filled with soft sand from Australian Native Landscapes (ANL)
Playing in the sandpit is a great way for children to learn to be social and make friends while in the beautiful surroundings of the Eco Garden. It exposes them to situations where they need to be problem-solvers, such as sharing toys with other children. It’s also just a fun way for children to share their experiences with friends and make new friends, all while enjoying the beautiful outdoors, soaking up the sun, and breathing in the fresh air.
Fine motor skills are a vital area developed through sand play, using small tools to make marks and shapes, helping children engage with and use their smaller muscle groups within their hands for smaller movements. Cognitive skills are another area of development targeted using sand pits. There are endless options for fun imaginative play in this creative space, and sandpits invite children to explore, experiment, and investigate.
It’s also an opportunity for parents to have their own relaxing moments in the Eco Garden, pondering on the beauty surrounding them and the 4Rs philosophy throughout the Eco Garden. It’s the perfect time to reflect on your personal bonds with nature and sustainable choices within your lifestyle.
All plastic and metal trucks in the Sandpit have been salvaged from landfills, giving a second life and full meaning of reuse for the children to enjoy. The trucks offer all children the opportunity to construct, destruct, and generally have healthy, happy outdoor play!
CHILDREN MUST BE UNDER STRICT ADULT SUPERVISION AT ALL TIMES
