Kimbriki’s Eco House & Garden Education Centre has just hosted a second Professional Development Day for 2023, focusing on Waste and Sustainability in Schools. We welcomed another full house of eager teachers from the Northern Beaches, Mosman, and greater Sydney regions. The demand for these special days has been embraced by schools, with feedback indicating a desire for more of these events on a regular basis, spanning additional days. It’s great to see the uptake of this initiative led by Rachel Kernaghan, Ecological Education Manager, and her team. This further demonstrates the impressive actions taken by teachers in schools, promoting waste management initiatives in various ways and teaching students how to identify and improve their environment.
In September, Kimbriki received ISO Re-certification. Being ISO certified signifies a commitment to excellence and quality in every facet of the Kimbriki operations. It means that our organisation has met rigorous international standards set by the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO). ISO certification is a testament to our dedication to delivering consistent, high-quality products and services while adhering to best practices in the areas of quality management, environmental responsibility, and occupational health & safety. Re-certification is vital because it ensures that we continue to uphold these standards over time. It’s a regular check-up that demonstrates our unwavering commitment to improvement and customer satisfaction. By renewing our certification, we confirm to our account holders and daily customers that we remain a reliable partner dedicated to meeting and exceeding their expectations while staying in sync with evolving global benchmarks.
To celebrate and promote The HUB at Kimbriki, we invite the community to join us for an Open Day on Saturday 4th November from 9am to 2pm. You can drop off preloved and new toys at Peninsula Toy Repairs and unwanted teen-to-adult bikes (in good condition) at Bikes4Life. You can also take tours of the toy and bike workshops and join demonstrations and maker sessions at Boomerang Bags Kimbriki and Reverse Garbage. Enjoy a sausage sizzle and explore Northern Beaches Council’s new Waste and Circular Economy Strategy and receive exciting giveaways, plus fun activities for the kids.
As part of National Recycling Week 2023, taking place from13th to 19th November, Kimbriki invites trades and businesses to a drop-in Information Morning on Friday 17th November in the Eco House and Garden carpark, between 8am and 10am. This offers tradespeople and businesses who frequently visit Kimbriki Resource Recovery Centre the opportunity to gain more awareness and a stronger understanding of Kimbriki’s recycling/disposal options and services. We hope you can drop-in for a casual chat with management and staff and enjoy a complimentary bacon and egg roll and beverage from the coffee van.
Enjoy the Spring – Kimbriki Newsletter, and we hope to see you soon at the upcoming events.
