Over the last 12 months, Bikes4Life has serviced and gifted close to 800 bicycles, with just over half going to a girls’ school in Northern Uganda, operated by the Te Kworo Foundation.

Te Kworo were absolutely delighted with the bikes, which provide safe transport and added security for their students and others working at the school. In addition, the 40-foot container we also gifted has been converted into a valuable teaching space.

In recent months, Bikes4Life has supplied Settlement Services International with more than 100 bicycles for new refugees and migrants who now call Sydney home. These bicycles offer vital transport for people with limited resources as they start afresh in a new country.

In the coming weeks, we hope to gift some beautiful, high-quality carbon road bikes — generously donated by members of the community — to Father Chris Riley’s “Youth Off The Streets” (YOTS) road riding and racing initiative, supporting kids aged 12–17.

Bikes4Life welcomes any bike, in any condition. The worst that can happen is it gets recycled into new steel through Kimbriki Recycling; the best that can happen is it becomes a valuable asset for someone, either here in Sydney or elsewhere in the world.

WEDNESDAYS 1PM – 4PM @ KIMBRIKI WORKSHOP

Regardless of ability, we are always keen to have new volunteers  join us at our Kimbriki workshop. So please come along any Wednesday afternoon 1-4pm (bar public holidays) and we will show you around.

We aim to help interested people develop their mechanical skills fixing up bicycles, whilst providing a relaxed and fun environment for them to work in.

As most of our work is currently outside, we request volunteers dress appropriately and wear closed shoes.
