The awards were presented during a ceremony led by Northern Beaches Mayor Sue Heins at Glen Street Theatre on Thursday 25th January 2024. Among the attendees were Kimbriki CEO, Peter Davis, and notable individuals such as Marina Barker (Boomerang Bags), Robyn Waters, and Peter Braun (Peninsula Senior Citizen Toy Recyclers).
Peninsula Seniors Toy Recyclers, currently transitioning from their previous Ingleside premises to The HUB at Kimbriki, received well-deserved acknowledgment for their dedicated work. Terry Cook, leading a team of over 30 volunteers, tirelessly refurbishes a multitude of toys, games, books, dolls, and bicycles. These items are then distributed to local charities and sent to underprivileged children globally, with the primary goal of bringing hope and joy to those in need. Terry’s commitment to environmental sustainability, by keeping unwanted items out of landfill, reflects a significant and continually growing effort.
