Kimbriki Environmental Enterprises Pty Ltd (KEE) is an innovative waste management and resource recovery centre on Sydney’s northern beaches. The Kimbriki site receives over 330,000 tonnes of waste annually, with close to 80% currently being recycled. Kimbriki has two Shareholders, Northern Beaches Council (96%) and Mosman Council (4%) and works with its community, shareholders, employees, partners and the waste industry to deliver and promote efficient, cost effective services that reduce waste to landfill and increase resource recovery. KEE also delivers waste education messaging through its Eco House and Garden facility and hosts local charities who promote repair and reuse through its Hub facility.

The Role
Reporting to the GM Operations, the Site Manager will be responsible for the day to day management of the site, ensuring the site operates efficiently, safely and provides a high level of customer service. The Site Manager will be expected to work 35-hour weeks Monday to Friday noting the start and finish times are flexible and there may be the need for occasional weekend or out of hours work.

Kimbriki operates 7 days per week, 10 hours per day, 363 days per year and has two operations shifts each lead by a Works Coordinator, the Site Manager will work with these Works Coordinators, the Site Engineer and WHS Manager to provide co-ordination and oversight of the operational and project activities underway. This team is supported by a Compliance Administration Officer. The Site Manager will also be required to manage the four onsite service contractors that operate the vegetation processing, construction and demolition waste processing, co-mingled recyclables aggregation and plant hire services as well as project manage construction works on-site.

Key responsibilities include:
• Contract management of site and project contractors including regular compliance meetings.
• Oversee KEE’s incident reporting system and support the ongoing use and development of KEE’s Integrated Management System.
• Assist GM Operations in assessing and implementing new processes to sort waste and recover additional resources.
• Resolve complaints and issues raised by customers.
• Monitor and respond to incident reports and corrective actions arising from KEE’s incident management system.
• Ensuring the landfill plant hire contractor manages the landfill operations as per instructions and that the Works Coordinators report, advise and ensure consistency from shift to shift.
• Complete monthly activity reports for Management.
• Project manage and support the Site Engineer in conducting small to medium sized construction works on site, primarily relating to road and drainage works.
• Ensure an efficient handover on site from one Operations shift to the other.

Essential Requirements
• Knowledge of or experience in waste management, recycling, construction or facility management.
• Demonstrated experience in management of sites involving civil or other engineering works with multiple stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and effectively manage staff, delegate tasks effectively, monitor progress and review operations.
• Highly developed interpersonal skills and a demonstrated hands-on, practical approach, with the proven ability to build effective relationships and communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders both internal and external.
• Experience in and knowledge of procurement and contract management.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, plus the ability to plan, organise and prioritise work to reach agreed successful conclusions.
• Demonstrated ability to provide customer service including problem solving, conflict resolution, negotiation and mediation skills.
• Computer skills including all Microsoft Office applications.
• Behaviour that positively demonstrates Kimbriki’s values of respect, teamwork, integrity, excellence and responsibility.
• Current driver’s licence.
Desirable Requirements
• Qualification in project management, commercial management or engineering.
• Understanding of and exposure to NSW Local Government procurement process and regulation.
• Demonstrated ability in implementation of management plans, cost controls, management meeting and reporting.
• Experience managing long term high value contracts.
