Motor Oil Recycling
- Used motor oil, or ‘sump oil’ is a hazardous waste item and can be carefully disposed of for recycling at Kimbriki.
- When changing the oil in your car or other motors such as lawnmowers, boats or chainsaws, you can dispose of it correctly so it doesn’t pollute water ways and soil.
How to Recycle your Motor Oil?
- Capacity, maximum of 50L per transaction
- Must be in a sealed container no larger than 10L
What happens to the Oil when Recycled?
Recycled used oil can be used as an industrial burner fuel, hydraulic oil, incorporated into other products, or re-refined back into new lubricating oil.
In 2001, Australia introduced a national recycling scheme for used oil. Since then, the amount of oil collected and recycled has risen from none to more than 320 million litres of base lubricating oil every year. That’s equivalent to 160 Olympic size swimming pools!
