Site Safety Rules

  1. Pedestrian access is not permitted 
  2. Adhere to road safety requirements:
  3. Speed limit of 20 km per hour
  4. No riding in utes, trailers or trucks
  5. Seatbelts must be worn at all times
  6. Only hands-free use of mobile phones (CB radios are exempt)
  7. All entry is via weighbridges A & B; one vehicle at a time
  8. All exit is via weighbridges C & D; one vehicle at a time
  9. Follow directions from Kimbriki staff
  10. All materials/loads must be unloaded by the customer – bring appropriate resources to unload
  11. Cover and restrain your load
  12. Do not overload your vehicle or trailer
  13. Do not approach plant and machinery
  14. No scavenging 
  15. Children must remain in vehicles except when at the Eco House & Garden and Buy Back Centre. Children must be fully supervised within these areas.
  16. Animals must remain in vehicles at all times
  17. Wear covered footwear 
  18. No smoking
  19. Abusive and unsafe behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in the exclusion from the site or the Police being contacted
  20. Please report any incidents to Kimbriki staff immediately

Potential Site Hazards

Persons entering Kimbriki should be aware of the following potential site hazards:

  • Heavy vehicles, plant and machinery 
  • Roads are slippery when wet and are kept damp for dust suppression
  • Wind can increase the risk of flying objects
  • Dust may cause irritation to the eyes and lungs
  • Sun glare can restrict your view of signage and road markings
  • Watch for trip hazards and uneven ground
  • Be aware of sharp objects and broken glass 
  • Hazardous substances may be found around the site 
  • Other customer vehicles who are unfamiliar with the site 

Kimbriki Safety Recommendations

  • Take care for your safety and that of others
  • Slow down and alter your driving to match the conditions
  • Kimbriki recommends appropriate lifting methods when manual handling materials. Use 2-person lifts for heavy items and use a controlled lifting technique (bend your knees!)
  • Kimbriki recommends all loading and unloading is done whilst standing on the ground. If you do need to climb onto the back of your truck, ute or trailer, be aware of the risk of falling off
  • Kimbriki seeks opportunities for improvement and values any feedback regarding the customer experience
