GAS BOTTLES ARE CONSIDERED HAZARDOUS WASTE AND SHOULD BE KEPT OUT OF HOUSEHOLD GARBAGE BINS AND LANDFILL
Please dispose of Gas Bottles or Fire Extinguishers in appropriate labelled bins located in the Mixed Waste Drop Off Point 5 at Kimbriki.
Gas Bottles
- Up to 9kg maximum, limit of 2 per customer per day.
- Please ensure to place items in an upright position only.
Fire Extinguishers
- Up to 9kg maximum, limit of 2 per customer per day.
- Please ensure to place items in an upright position only.
Types which can be disposed of include:
- Water
- Foam
- Dry Powder – ABE
- Dry Powder – BE
- Carbon Dioxide (‘CO2’)
- Wet Chemical
No Yellow Halon extinguishers permitted. For all yellow BCF/halon extinguishers, please return to your local fire station, these will be sent to the National Halon Bank for appropriate recycling and disposal.
