Kimbriki has recently completed the installation of a new 20-foot shipping container, transformed into a bright green, purpose-built Toy Donation Shed for the Peninsula Senior Citizens Toy Repair Group.

The Toy Donation Shed is now open and accepting donations of toys in good condition, helping provide children in Australia and around the world with much-loved toys and moments of joy.

Conveniently located in Drop-off Area #3 – Household Problem Waste, the shed is open seven days a week from 7am to 5pm.

The existing bike donation cage used by Bikes4Life at The Hub has also received an upgrade, with the addition of a purpose-built roof to provide greater protection for donated bikes from the elements.

The roof was designed and constructed by Kimbriki staff member James, with assistance from several staff members during the installation last week.

This valuable addition will support the Bikes4Life volunteers as they manage the large number of donated bikes arriving each week. The sheltered space will allow bikes to be stored, assessed, repaired and prepared for shipment in containers destined for communities in need both in Australia and overseas.

Last year, Terry from the Peninsula Senior Citizens Toy Repair Group was approached by Alice Smith with a proposal to use a 40-foot shipping container at their former workshop site in Ingleside. The container was destined for Ghana and quickly became the focus of an incredible community effort.

Volunteer groups from across the region came together to fill the container with much-needed items, including more than 500 bicycles, toys, bedding, clothing, soft toys and medical supplies. Every available space was carefully packed, ensuring the container was filled to capacity before being shipped to Ghana.

The project showcased the power of community collaboration, with volunteers, donors and organisations working together to provide valuable resources to those in need.

Sending joy and smiles all rund to those in need!

Just take a look at the photos above and below of a recent container of supplies that left Ingleside for Ghana. The container had sat at the previous premises of Peninsula Toy Repair Group up on their land at Ingleside.
