The last 6 months at the Hub have been great for Bikes4Life. We have had great support from the local community with generous donations of all bikes from, complete rust buckets, (that Kimbriki recycles to be made into new steel), to top of the range bikes we sell to pay for refurbed bikes to be sent overseas. Most bikes we fix up.
Just last month in February, we were able to pay for a 40 foot container of 434 bikes that we had refurbished at the Hub, to go to a girls school in Northern Uganda.
We are also pleased that over the last few months, we have almost tripled the number of wonderful volunteers who help refurbish bikes on a Wednesday afternoon, that will be gifted here and overseas
A big thanks also to the Kimbriki Resource Centre for their continuing support in helping us do our work.
Without the community gifting unwanted bikes, volunteers to service those bikes, and a big site to operate on, 400+ secondary school girls wouldn’t have transport from the middle of 2025.
So thanks again, and keep those peddlies coming to us. Nothing is wasted!
