Boomerang Bags Northern Beaches Kimbriki continued the regular fortnightly Sewing Bees through the Festive season. Over the past few months, several new volunteer members have joined us, and they share our passion for recovering and repurposing unwanted textiles.
The local organisations in our support program now include Stewart House and Bear Cottage, increasing our focus on #sewingforpurpose in 2025.
A stressed Swamp Wallaby Joey was recovered locally from its dead Mother and transported in one of the Wildlife Rescue Pouches we made for Sydney Wildlife Rescue. We are very proud something we created assisted the Sydney Wildlife Rescue volunteers to do their amazing work.
Our Hub neighbours, Peninsular Toy Recyclers are keeping us busy making dresses and bedding for donated dolls and beds.
SEWING BEES Boomerang Bags hold fortnightly Sewing Bee events at their studio at The Hub, everyone is welcome to join them. All materials and tools are provided and there are lots of non-sewing jobs to be done if you donโt fancy sewing!
