TV & Computer Recycling

TV’s & Computers recycling includes printers, computer parts and peripherals (see full list below).

The following is not accepted:

Electrical Appliances, Mobile Phones, Game Consoles i.e Xbox, Video Recorders, DVD players, Radios, stereos, Power tools, Digital set top boxes

How to Recycle your TV’s & Computers at Kimbriki?

  • Please wipe all data from computer when possible.
  • Customers must unload their own  items.
  • Place in appropriate cages.
  • Special cage for devices with data.
  • Toners must be removed as they contain chemicals which are not accepted at Kimbriki. They can be recycled at shops that sell them or via Australia Post retailers.
  • Northern Beaches Council and Mosman Council have banned TV’s & Computers from Council’s household waste collections and from being accepted as landfill at Kimbriki.

What can be recycled in TV’s & Computers?

Under the National TV & Computer Recycling Scheme, only the following products CAN be dropped-off for free recycling:

Home (tabletop) Photocopiers – under 990mm deep x 1050mm high x 2140mm wide (must fit recycling cage and cannot sit above the top as the cages are stacked on top of each other to transport).

Computer parts and peripherals Keyboards
Joysticks and game pads
Mouses and trackballs
Scanners
Compact disc drives, including burners
Digital video disc drives, including burners
Hard drives, CD drives
Memory cards, including network, sound, video, IDE, SCSI and similar
Motherboards
Electrical transformers and static converters
Web cameras, keyboards, web cameras, USBs and modems

The objectives of the scheme:

  • Reduce waste to landfill, especially the hazardous materials found in electronic waste.
  • Increase the recovery of reusable materials in a safe, scientific and environmentally sound manner.
  • Provide convenient access to recycling services for households and small businesses throughout Australia.
