Seed Library
In this Seed Library you will find the seeds of many plants grown here in the EcoGarden.
Take a Kimbriki seed packet to take some seeds home today! You may bring some seeds back when your plants go to seed.
Many commercially sold seeds collected from plants grown interstate and even overseas where the conditions are quite different and as a result, they may not germinate well in Sydney.
Some plants only grow in one season, usually Spring into Summer or Autumn into Winter, and others grow throughout the year. For best results, always check what season to plant your seed in.
Advantages of Seed Libraries:
- The mother plants are acclimatised to local conditions, unlike most commercial seeds.
- Seeds are accessible to all. Anyone can save seeds from their plants.
- Encourages community collaboration.
Kimbriki Little Library
Our Little Library works very similar to a Street Library, which you may have seen around your neighbourhood, outside community centres, childcare centres, schools, or people’s homes.
Swap or take a book at our Little Library for free. When you’re done with it, bring it back and grab another!
Knowledge is power, and participating in book swapping is a great way to ensure knowledge and stories are accessible to all.
