Reverse Garbage Workshops Now at Kimbriki

In July 2022, we were very excited to announce that Reverse Garbage would offering a range of creative reuse workshops to the Northern Beaches and Mosman communities  onsite at Kimbriki!

For those who may not be familiar with Reverse Garbage, it is a not-for-profit creative reuse centre based in Marrickville, in Sydney’s inner west. Started by teachers in 1975, they redirect commercial and industrial waste from landfill to a new life with educators, artists, upcyclers, DIY enthusiasts, tinkerers, set builders, window dressers, community organisations, festivals, charities, and more.

Reverse Garbage also runs creative reuse community workshops which fit well within Kimbriki’s recently repurposed onsite space, The Hub.  Kimbriki and Reverse Garbage share the ethos of reducing waste to landfill by promoting reuse, repair and repurposing of used materials. and we are really excited to have them running workshops onsite!

Their workshops are focused on prompting people to think differently, not only about their waste, but about what they consume in the first place. Reverse Garbage believe that as adults and children learn new skills creating their own masterpieces from unique reuse resources, they are also having conversations about reducing, reusing and recycling, and sustainable living in general.

Upcoming workshops include:

  • Zero Waste Collage Jewellery Making
  •  DIY Kokedama with Character for Kids
  •  Proddy Rug Making
  •  Lino Printing for Beginners
